The elastic tabs above the knife slots keep knives in place better than a previous case I had bought from Messermeister. I would recommend blade guards though because it is very easy to slice the stitching for the elastic. What I did was use thin cardboard from a pkg of zip lock bags to make guards and it works great. Also there's plenty of pockets for extra stuff and the color scheme is really nice. If you're looking for a quality knife case, check this one out.
